Affiliated Distributors (AD) is a $31 billion contractor and industrial products wholesale buying / marketing group currently supporting over 575 independent distributors across seven industries.
Recognizing that the next battleground in distribution was the online world, AD sought to develop leading programs in content and ecommerce to help support members’ more effectively compete online versus the large national competitors.
AD turned to B2X to help develop a strategy and repeatable process for addressing the needs of the different industries they served. B2X worked closely with AD and its members in the Industrial, Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC and Pipes, Valves and Fittings markets. The solution encompassed the full spectrum of digital requirements, from content to online sales. Together with AD we developed a comprehensive roadmap and conducted the technology and vendor evaluations to select the right partners and bring the solution to reality.
The solution went live with a product catalog of over 8,000 categories, over 200,000 skus, and many members beginning their journey online for the first time. The approach was recently chronicled in an article published by Modern Distribution Management entitled AD Tackles the eCommerce Monster.
