29 Jun New Project: Introducing the B2B eCommerce Secrets Podcast
So there’s something I’ve been working on that I’m so glad I can finally share with you. I launched a new podcast – a new venture in a new media. We’re calling it B2B eCommerce Secrets. Created especially for distributors and manufacturers, this podcast will talk about everything touching B2B eCommerce – the challenges, the leaders, the best practices, and more.
So, Justin, Why a Podcast?
First of all, I love podcasts. I’m an avid podcast listener – marketing podcasts, leadership podcasts, pastors – I love podcasts. I listen to them in the morning on my way to work. I listen to them in the evening on my way back from work. I listen to them on flights to clients. I listen to them before I go to bed. The list goes on…
I love learning through podcasts – it’s a medium that really works for me. For me, podcasts are all about learning. I actually got started on podcasts with the Serial podcast – it was about a story that’s local to me – here in Baltimore. (It’s not about business or eCommerce, but I still highly recommend it!).
I was talking with my VP of Marketing, Sarah Falcon. Another podcast enthusiast, she pointed out that there aren’t podcasts out there covering B2B eCommerce. It’s true – there are podcasts about eCommerce, and retail eCommerce, and digital marketing, but nothing specifically about B2B eCommerce. For people that like to consume information the way we do, this podcast is a way for us to talk about this subject that we’re entrenched in and passionate about.
Here’s the Deal
I’m a talker, I love talking. I love it (hands down) over writing. So these podcasts will be the basis for more content – articles, white papers, reports. Voice is a lot faster to do than typing things out. There is huge future potential in audio, too. As Gary Vaynerchuk says:
…[A]udio and voice are by far the most natural interface for humans to interact. We like to speak and listen. There was roughly 1.5X more audio consumed than video according to Nielsen statistics on streaming in 2016. This is HUGE. If you’re medium is voice, now is your time. Start creating today. Start a podcast, record your phone conversations with friends or call your relatives and host a talk-show.
As we always say: we practice what we preach. We talk about content creation to our clients. We talk about, and we do, email marketing, videos, custom content, and webinars. We know the importance and the necessity of creating content that is specific to your expertise and your customers. Understanding where you can add value and then doing the work, that’s what helps your business stand out, compete and have future growth.

Fortunately, we have a lot to say about B2B eCommerce. We’re going to cover all aspects – the thought leaders, the practitioners, our best practices, and news and trends. There aren’t a ton of real B2B eCommerce experts (frankly, B2C eCommerce experts are easier to find). But we know the real deal people – and we know you’ll gain from their expertise. We’ll interpret what we’ve learned from our clients, best practices, hands-on work, and even B2C insights into actionable information that will directly impact your business.
